To kick off the initiative in February, sustainable footwear designer Helen Kirkum Birkenstock Studio in dray walk gallery in Shoreditch for an eight-week residency.

This dynamic space reflects Birkenstock's heritage and craftsmanship, showcasing classic silhouettes reimagined in contemporary styles. Helen utilises recycled and ‘dead stock’ materials to create artisanal & authentic pieces - from sneakers to furniture and beyond. Her process celebrates the nuances of the handmade and makes us question the very meaning of art, design and consumption.
